Explorer 60 SAGE Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment Spacecraft Family
Explorer 60, also known as SAGE I, AEM-B, and Applications Explorer Mission-B, was a NASA Earth-observation spacecraft launched on February 18, 1979. Its sun-photometer measured global stratospheric aerosol extinction, ozone, and nitrogen dioxide profiles; spacecraft operations continued until November 19, 1981 and the last signal was received on January 7, 1982 after battery failure.
