Falcon 9 is SpaceX's two-stage, partially reusable orbital launch-vehicle program. Its major production generations are v1.0, v1.1, and Full Thrust, whose final Block 5 configuration supports current crew, cargo, satellite, science, and national-security missions. The reusable first stage uses nine Merlin engines and the expendable upper stage uses one restartable Merlin Vacuum engine.
