General Dynamics F-111 Variable-Geometry Combat Aircraft Family

The General Dynamics F-111 was a two-seat, twin-engine variable-geometry aircraft developed for the United States TFX requirement and adapted into strike, reconnaissance, electronic-warfare, and other operational variants. Its December 1964 first flight and variable-sweep wing made it a defining high-speed, low-level combat-aircraft programme of the Cold War; the F-111A entered service in 1967 and the family served in the United States and Australia.
