Griffin-1 is Astrobotic Technology’s production lunar lander for NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services delivery to the lunar South Pole, currently targeted for late 2026 at Nobile Crater. The lander integrates Astrobotic’s hazard-detection lidar and terrain-relative navigation system for autonomous safe-site selection, and carries the Astrolab FLIP lunar rover plus NASA and ESA payloads including lunar-dust and lidar demonstrations. Griffin-1 is the concrete follow-on to Astrobotic’s Peregrine delivery and is distinct from the generic Griffin lander bus because this mission has a defined production vehicle, destination, payload manifest, and flight-test campaign.
