The HAL Tejas is an Indian single-engine, tailless-delta light combat aircraft family whose first technology demonstrator flew in 2001. Developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency and produced by Hindustan Aeronautics, the family progressed through technology demonstrators, prototypes, land-based naval trials, operational single-seat aircraft, and twin-seat trainers. It is now in active Indian Air Force service and continuing production.
