Lockheed L-049 through L-1649 Constellation Family

The Lockheed Constellation was a long-range, four-engine pressurized transport family recognizable by its flowing fuselage and triple tail. Conceived for transcontinental airline service, it first flew in military form during the Second World War before becoming a defining postwar intercontinental airliner. Successive Constellation, Super Constellation, and Starliner variants expanded range and capacity, while military derivatives served as transports and airborne radar platforms.
