Lockheed P-38 Lightning Twin-Engine Fighter Family

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a twin-engine, twin-boom fighter developed for the U.S. Army Air Corps and flown across every major theater of the Second World War. Its long range, concentrated nose armament, turbocharged engines, and specialized F-4/F-5 reconnaissance derivatives made the family a defining American combat and photographic-reconnaissance aircraft of the 1940s.
