Lockheed XF-90 Long-Range Penetration Fighter Prototype Family
The Lockheed XF-90 was a two-aircraft prototype family developed to meet a United States Air Force requirement for a long-range penetration fighter. The first prototype used two non-afterburning Westinghouse J34 turbojets, while the second was adapted for afterburning J34s; the program ended without production after the Korean War shifted procurement toward existing aircraft.
