Luna 12 Ye-6LF lunar-orbiter spacecraft family
Luna 12 was the Soviet Union’s 1966 Ye-6LF lunar orbiter. It entered a 133-by-1,200-kilometer lunar orbit on October 25, returned the first released photographs of the Moon’s surface from the mission, and then completed a successful scientific mission with micrometeoroid and radiation instruments before contact was lost in January 1967.
