Lunar Orbiter 5 was NASA’s final Lunar Orbiter mapping spacecraft. Launched in 1967, it surveyed Apollo and Surveyor sites, mapped previously unphotographed areas of the lunar far side, and helped define the Moon’s gravity field before its commanded impact in 1968.
