Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 Fagot Aircraft Family

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 was a Soviet single-engine swept-wing jet-fighter family that became one of the defining aircraft of the early Cold War. Designed in response to a high-altitude interceptor requirement, it combined a pressurized cockpit, ejection seat, heavy cannon armament, and a compact swept wing with a Rolls-Royce Nene-derived turbojet. The MiG-15 and its licensed derivatives served as fighters, reconnaissance aircraft, and two-seat trainers across dozens of air forces and became the principal Soviet opponent of the North American F-86 during the Korean War.
