Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 Fresco Aircraft Family

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 was a Soviet single-engine swept-wing jet-aircraft family that extended the MiG-15's high-subsonic fighter design into a widely deployed interceptor, reconnaissance, and training lineage. Its revised wing and fuselage, and afterburning variants, made it one of the most important second-generation jet fighters of the 1950s. Soviet and licensed Polish and Chinese production brought the family into service with dozens of air forces and made it a defining aircraft of the early Cold War and Vietnam-era air wars.
