Mitsubishi SpaceJet / MRJ Regional Jet Family

The Mitsubishi SpaceJet was a Japanese regional-jet family originally developed as the Mitsubishi Regional Jet. The MRJ90 prototype first flew from Nagoya in 2015, and multiple test aircraft accumulated thousands of flight-test hours during a prolonged certification campaign. Mitsubishi renamed the program SpaceJet in 2019, but no aircraft entered airline service; Mitsubishi Heavy Industries discontinued development in 2023 after technical, market, and funding obstacles prevented a viable restart.
