Mitsubishi X-2 Advanced Technology Demonstrator Family

The Mitsubishi X-2 Shinshin, originally designated Advanced Technology Demonstrator-X, was a Japanese stealth and high-maneuverability technology-demonstrator family developed under Japan’s ATLA program with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as coordinating company. Its prototype integrated a low-observable airframe, advanced flight-control and propulsion technologies, and test instrumentation to validate technologies for future fighters; it made its maiden flight in 2016 and was not a production fighter.
