North American F-86 Sabre Family

The North American F-86 Sabre was an early swept-wing jet aircraft developed for the newly independent United States Air Force. Its 35-degree swept wing, automatic leading-edge slats, and later all-moving tail helped make high-subsonic flight controllable and influenced the transition from straight-wing postwar jets to transonic designs. Numerous day-fighter, interceptor, reconnaissance, and license-built variants served internationally.
