The Pilatus PC-6 Porter is a single-engine utility aircraft designed around exceptional short-field performance and a rugged, adaptable cabin. The original piston-powered Porter soon evolved into the better-known turboprop Turbo Porter, while licensed production expanded the fleet beyond Switzerland. Operators have used PC-6s to move passengers and cargo, support remote communities, drop parachutists, conduct survey and observation work, and operate from short, rough, high-altitude, and otherwise difficult landing sites.
