The Piper PA-18 Super Cub is a strengthened and more powerful development of the PA-11 and J-3 Cub line. Its simple high-wing airframe, low-speed handling, and ability to use short or unimproved landing areas made it an enduring private and working aircraft. Civil versions have served in recreation, training, agriculture, patrol, survey, and backcountry utility roles, while military-designated Super Cubs were used for liaison, training, transport, and target-towing duties.
