PROCYON was a University of Tokyo/JAXA 65-kilogram deep-space microsatellite launched as a Hayabusa2 rideshare on December 3, 2014. It demonstrated a small deep-space spacecraft bus with communications, attitude and orbit control, ion propulsion, and VLBI navigation, and conducted geocorona and heliophysics observations; its planned asteroid close-flyby maneuver was not achieved, and operations ended after the December 2015 Earth close approach.
