Redstone Rocket Family

Redstone was a U.S. Army liquid-propellant ballistic missile developed by the Army Ballistic Missile Agency and produced by Chrysler. Beyond its military role, the single-stage vehicle became the foundation for the Jupiter-C reentry-test rocket, the Juno I satellite launcher, and NASA's Mercury-Redstone crewed suborbital launcher. Redstone-derived vehicles enabled the first U.S. satellite and first U.S. human spaceflight.
