Rutan Model 76 Voyager
The Rutan Voyager was a purpose-built twin-engine endurance aircraft designed around an exceptionally light graphite-honeycomb structure and a fuel volume far greater than its empty weight. Its long wing, canard layout, twin booms, and front-and-rear engines were optimized for one goal: a nonstop, unrefueled flight around the world. The sole aircraft achieved that flight in December 1986 and set multiple absolute and class records.
