Saab 2000 Regional Turboprop Aircraft Family

The Saab 2000 is a high-speed, twin-turboprop regional-aircraft family developed in Sweden for roughly 50 passengers. It combined a stretched cabin with powerful engines, six-blade propellers, short-runway performance, and active cabin-noise reduction to approach jet travel times on regional routes. The prototype first flew in 1992, airline deliveries began in 1994, and surviving aircraft continue in passenger, charter, and airborne-surveillance service.
