Saturn I

Saturn I was NASA's first Saturn launch vehicle and the United States' first rocket developed specifically to place large payloads into Earth orbit. Four Block I development vehicles flew with dummy upper stages, followed by six orbital Block II vehicles with a live S-IV second stage. All ten flights from 1961 through 1965 succeeded.
