Shavit Satellite Launch Vehicle

Shavit is Israel’s active three-stage, all-solid small-satellite launcher, developed for the national Ofek reconnaissance-spacecraft programme. Operational since 1988, it launches westward over the Mediterranean for range safety, accepting the performance penalty of flying against Earth’s rotation while providing an independent Israeli orbital capability.
