The Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion is the military S-65 heavy-lift helicopter family that first flew in 1964. Its rear-loading cargo fuselage, large articulated rotor, external sponsons, and General Electric T64 turboshaft installations were adapted across two-engine transport, rescue, and minesweeping variants and the three-engine CH-53E and MH-53E heavy-lift forms.
