The Sikorsky S-62 was an early production amphibious turbine helicopter that combined S-55 dynamic components with a flying-boat hull and a single gas turbine. First flown in 1958, the family operated from land, water, snow, ice, mud, and remote terrain; commercial S-62As supported passenger and utility work while the Coast Guard HH-52A Seaguard became a landmark search-and-rescue aircraft.
