Sikorsky X2 High-Speed Compound Helicopter Technology-Demonstrator Family

The Sikorsky X2 was a high-speed compound-helicopter technology demonstrator that combined coaxial rigid rotors with a pusher propeller. Its flight-test program explored how a helicopter could retain low-speed maneuverability while reaching speeds beyond conventional rotorcraft limits, and its architecture became a direct technology predecessor to later Sikorsky high-speed demonstrators.
