The Sikorsky XH-59A, also designated S-69, was a two-prototype Advancing Blade Concept compound helicopter family. Its rigid coaxial counter-rotating rotors were designed to retain lift at high advance ratio; after pure-helicopter testing, two Pratt & Whitney J60 turbojets were added for auxiliary forward thrust, enabling a 238-knot high-speed demonstration.
