The SNCASO SO 9000 Trident I was a French experimental aircraft designed by Lucien Servanty with two Turbomeca Marboré II turbojets and a separate SEPR 481 rocket group. Jacques Guignard flew its first flight on March 2, 1953, using jet power alone. Charles Goujon made the first flight with rocket power in September 1954. This mixed-power research preceded the more powerful Trident II, which first flew in 1955. The later version’s climb and altitude records belong to that successor configuration. A Trident I is preserved at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace.
