Soyuz MS

Soyuz MS is the active Modified Systems generation of the Soyuz crew spacecraft. It retains the three-module service, orbital, and reentry architecture; NASA identifies the instrumentation/propulsion module's propulsion compartment as housing the system for orbital rendezvous and docking maneuvers and the deorbit burn, while its main propulsion and reaction-control system share nitrogen-tetroxide and unsymmetrical-dimethylhydrazine propellant tanks. ESA identifies Soyuz MS as the current version, with up to three astronauts, about 7.2 m length, 2.7 m diameter, and approximately 7 tonnes mass; ESA's 4 June 2018 Soyuz MS infographic specifies a 6,730 kg launch mass for that published configuration.

    Name
    Soyuz MS integrated propulsion installation
    Notes
The Soyuz MS service module contains one integrated propulsion system supporting orbital maneuvers, rendezvous and docking, deorbit, and attitude control. NASA identifies shared nitrogen-tetroxide and unsymmetrical-dimethylhydrazine tanks for main propulsion and reaction control. Launch-escape and Soyuz launch-vehicle propulsion remain outside this spacecraft installation.
