Taurus is the U.S. ground-launched, four-stage solid-rocket lineage created by combining Pegasus-derived upper stages with a large ground-start first stage. The 1994 DARPA demonstrator used a Peacekeeper motor; commercial vehicles adopted Castor 120 and later evolved into the Minotaur-C product.
