Themis T1E single-engine evolution demonstrator

T1E is the planned single-engine evolution of ESA’s Themis reusable-stage demonstrator. The 2024 development agreement calls for a refined methane-fuelled Prometheus engine, upgraded structures and propellant tanks, and longer, higher takeoff-and-landing tests from Esrange in Sweden. Ground equipment and flight termination provisions are to be adapted for the expanded test envelope. This configuration extends Themis’s recovery research beyond the initial T1H low-altitude hop model.
