Thor-Burner was a family of expendable launch vehicles that paired surplus Thor-derived first stages with solid-propellant upper stages. Across 31 launches from 1965 through 1980, MG-18, Burner 1, Burner 2, Burner 2A, and DSV-2U configurations supported early military weather satellites, Defense Meteorological Satellite Program spacecraft, and Department of Defense technology missions from Vandenberg.
