Thor-Delta D Launch Vehicle

Thor-Delta D was the first thrust-augmented Delta configuration. It added three Thiokol solid-propellant motors to the Thor first stage and retained liquid and solid upper stages. Two vehicles flew successfully for NASA: Syncom 3 in August 1964 and Intelsat I, Early Bird, in April 1965.
