Thor-Delta E1 paired the enlarged DSV-3E second stage with a FW-4D solid third stage. Seventeen vehicles flew for NASA from July 1966 through April 1971, launching lunar and interplanetary explorers, communications and weather satellites, solar probes, and European science missions.
