Tsyklon Launch Vehicle Family

Tsyklon was a family of expendable Soviet and Ukrainian orbital launch vehicles derived from the R-36 missile by Yuzhnoye. The interim two-stage 11K67 Tsyklon-2A flew from 1967 to 1969; the definitive two-stage 11K69 Tsyklon-2 followed in 1969 and operated until 2006; the three-stage 11K68 Tsyklon-3 entered flight testing in 1977 and continued until 2009. The family carried military, communications, navigation, scientific, and Earth-observation payloads from Baikonur and Plesetsk.
