Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya Long-Range Turboprop Airliner Family
The Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya was a large Soviet long-range turboprop airliner derived from the Tu-95 wing and powerplant research but redesigned with a pressurized passenger fuselage. First flown in 1957, it carried Aeroflot's longest domestic and international routes at near-jet speeds, including high-profile Moscow–New York service, until pure jets replaced it. Only a small production run was built, making the Tu-114 a distinctive bridge between the piston and jet eras.
