Venera 4V-1 was the Soviet orbiter-lander design flown as Venera 9 and Venera 10 in 1975. Each spacecraft combined a Venus orbiter and a detachable pressure lander; the orbiters became the first spacecraft to circle Venus, while the landers returned the first photographs from the surface of another planet.
