Venus Express orbiter spacecraft
Venus Express was ESA’s first mission to Venus, a spacecraft derived from Mars Express and adapted for Venus’s hotter environment. It studied Venus’s atmosphere, clouds, surface temperatures, plasma environment, and atmosphere–surface interactions from orbit; ESA declared the mission complete on 16 December 2014 after fuel exhaustion.
