The X-65 CRANE is a full-scale unmanned technology demonstrator developed for the DARPA Control of Revolutionary Aircraft with Novel Effectors program. Built by Aurora Flight Sciences, it uses active flow control effectors alongside conventional surfaces to investigate primary flight control without relying on external moving surfaces; the modular diamond-like aircraft is intended as a reusable flight-test asset for active-flow-control research.
