Yakovlev Yak-141 Supersonic VTOL Fighter Family

The Yakovlev Yak-141, also designated Yak-41 and NATO-named Freestyle, was a Soviet supersonic vertical-takeoff-and-landing fighter demonstrator developed for carrier-based fleet defence. Its first flight in 1987 and later hover and transition testing demonstrated a rare supersonic VTOL configuration, but the programme was cancelled before operational production.
