The baseline Zhuque-2 was the original 49.5-metre configuration flown on Y1 through Y3. Four TQ-12 engines powered the first stage; the second stage used a TQ-12 main engine and a smaller TQ-11 vernier engine. The first flight failed, while Y2 and Y3 reached orbit before the program transitioned to Zhuque-2E.
