Apollo 1 CM-012
CM-012 was the Block I command module assigned to Apollo 1, also designated AS-204. During a launch-pad plugs-out test on January 27, 1967, a cabin fire killed astronauts Virgil Grissom, Edward White, and Roger Chaffee and destroyed the spacecraft. The investigation drove major Block II fire-safety and hatch redesigns.
