Atlas-Able vehicle 20, the first Atlas-Able, launched Pioneer P-3/Able 4B on 26 November 1959. Its fiberglass payload fairing began breaking apart about 45 seconds after liftoff, and aerodynamic forces tore away the upper stage and lunar probe.
