Lockheed Martin Atlas IIIA vehicle AC-201 completed the maiden Atlas III flight from Cape Canaveral on 24 May 2000, successfully placing the Eutelsat W4 communications satellite, later renamed Eutelsat 36A, into geosynchronous transfer orbit.
