Bell XV-15 Ship 1, NASA number N702NA, was the first of two Tilt Rotor Research Aircraft built by Bell Helicopter Textron under the joint Army/NASA proof-of-concept program. It completed its first hover and low-speed flight at Bell on 3 May 1977 and later supported NASA, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Bell conversion and flight research.
