Boeing Model 299 prototype (license 13372)
The Boeing Model 299, license 13372, was the prototype that established the B-17 Flying Fortress line. It made its first flight from Boeing Field in Seattle on 28 July 1935, then flew the Model 299 test and competition programme before being destroyed in the 30 October 1935 Wright Field take-off crash.
