Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope
Fermi is NASA’s active gamma-ray observatory launched as GLAST on June 11, 2008. After orbital checkout it was renamed for Enrico Fermi, and it continues to survey the full sky about every three hours while supporting rapid studies of gamma-ray bursts and other transient events.
