Gaganyaan TV-D1 Crew Module

The unpressurized Gaganyaan TV-D1 crew module flew on October 21, 2023 in ISRO's first in-flight abort demonstration. After the Crew Escape System pulled it away from the single-stage test vehicle, the 4,520 kg module separated, descended under its ten-parachute deceleration system, splashed down in the Bay of Bengal, and was recovered after completing the mission objectives.
