International Ultraviolet Explorer
The International Ultraviolet Explorer was a joint NASA–ESA–UK ultraviolet observatory launched in 1978. It became one of the longest-lived and most productive astronomical satellites, observing comets, stars, supernovae, and quasars until its completed mission in 1996.
