IXV flight vehicle
The IXV flight article completed ESA’s 11 February 2015 suborbital reentry demonstration on Vega flight VV04. It survived a guided hypersonic descent, deployed its parachute and flotation systems, and was recovered from the Pacific Ocean by the ship Nos Aries for post-flight examination.
